The Challenge

Transform a dated, hard-to-navigate education website into a modern, trustworthy platform that meets the expectations of today’s educators and decision-makers—while aligning with a refreshed brand identity and supporting long-term scalability.

Project Goals

1

Clarify Content Structure: Simplify site architecture to make finding key information fast and easy.

2

Improve Usability: Create intuitive navigation and page structure for educators and administrators.

3

Modernize Visual Identity: Update the look and feel to reflect a more current, credible education brand.

4

Build a Scalable Design System: Design modular components for consistency and long-term flexibility.

My Role & Approach

As Lead UI/UX Designer, I drove the end-to-end redesign—from user experience planning to final interface execution. I started by auditing the existing site structure and identifying key pain points for Apex’s core audiences.

I then introduced a simplified content hierarchy, intuitive navigation patterns, and clear CTAs to guide users through their journey. Visually, I modernized the brand with a fresh color palette, accessible type, and purposeful whitespace—building trust through clarity and polish.

To ensure consistency, I created a flexible design system with modular components that the Apex team could use across future pages. I collaborated with stakeholders and developers throughout to maintain fidelity from concept to WordPress implementation.

Outcome

The redesign positioned Apex as a more modern, credible, and user-centered brand. It improved how users discover content, helped highlight key offerings, and supported both marketing and internal content teams with a flexible, easy-to-manage system.
